Impact 100 St. Lucie for a Better Future

In its 5th year of grantmaking, charitable women’s giving circle celebrates its anniversary by awarding one high impact $80,000 grant to Mustard Seed Ministries 

and two general operating grants to the two finalists

Fort Pierce, FL - October 28, 2023 - In its mission to make a transformational improvement in St. Lucie County, Impact 100 St. Lucie selected Mustard Seed Ministries as recipient of its annual high impact changemaker grant awarding $80,000. The all-women, all volunteer philanthropic giving circle also awarded $500 for general operating support to finalists, Inner Truth Project and the Health Access Network between the Hands Clinic and United Against Poverty.

Made possible by annually aggregating members’ individual $1,000 contributions into $81,000 Grants to generate transformational change and lasting impact, Impact 100 St. Lucie awarded the grants at the annual celebration, marking the end of its yearly grant cycle. In its 5th year of grantmaking the chapter has awarded $462,589 in high impact grants to support non-profits in their work of meeting unmet needs. 

“There has always been tremendous need in St. Lucie County and, since COVID, the needs have only increased. Too many families are struggling to provide the basic necessities of life for their loved ones and to pay their bills. Many are facing eviction and homelessness. I believe that it is incumbent upon those of us who can help to do just that. That is why what Impact 100 St. Lucie does is so important at this time”, according to Janet Maffucci, the President of Impact 100 St. Lucie. 

Mustard Seed Ministries’ mission is to give hope and help to individuals and families during hardship or crisis, meeting the spiritual and material needs of the “Whole Person & Family. The funds will be utilized to combat homelessness in St. Lucie County. Since 1986 Mustard Seed has assisted people with financial, medical, emotional, and spiritual needs. In 2022 Mustard Seed provided 161,896 services to people struggling to meet basic life necessities. 

Impact 100 was a novel idea for our community years ago – women donors pooling their funds to make transformational grants. The Power of Women Giving as One! So simple but profound: to bloom where you are planted. They are steadfast in making a transformational impact one grant at a time. We seek to fund critical needs, new ventures, and innovative ways to solve social problems. Besides providing high-impact grants, this chapter often makes an impact in the community by volunteering regularly with local non-profit organizations.
